Fabbing up a little test trommel to use to test some new ground if my permits ever get First Nations approval. Yes, I know the barrel appears orientated the wrong way- i did it on purpose to carry tailings farther away from the skid.

Sweet! Looks like a good start. What gauge is the barrel made of?
You planning some sort of grizzly on that hopper?

Re: Test trommel
I had it waterjetted as a single piece. Cost me around $700 but having a combination sprocket/thrust ring was worth it to me.

Barrel is 1/2" i believe. Haha your previous posts have me talked out of a grizz but I may build one up that is bolt on so I can take it on/off.chickenminer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:54 amSweet! Looks like a good start. What gauge is the barrel made of?

Re: Test trommel
Well that heavy of a barrel can take the abuse for sure. I really dislike using a grizzly but sometimes it is a necessity. All depends on the ground.
I have around 6,000 yds through this test plant of mine w/o a grizzly but I can see it is taking a toll on the drum. Although the drum is only 1/4" material at best, might even be 3/16th!
Looking forward to seeing a video of it all setup and running!
