Buried Gold at Manley Hot Springs

Post by Geowizard » Sat Sep 26, 2026 8:59 pm

Hi Guys and Gals,

I would like to introduce you to a mining district in Alaska called Manley Hot Springs.

Manley Hot Springs is a historic gold mining region centered around the Hot Springs and Rampart mining districts, featuring prominent local waterways like Moore Creek, Nugget Creek, and Little Boulder Creek.

Key Gold Creeks and Properties:

Moore Creek & Nugget Creek: These waterways are part of the active and historical Quail Creek Gold Mine property near Manley Hot Springs. The area contains rich bench placer gold deposits alongside minerals like scheelite and cassiterite.

Little Boulder Creek: Located in the local Hot Springs Mining District, this creek has a long history of placer gold mining dating back to 1917 with operations continuing through the decades.

Glen Creek & Baker Creek: Early prospectors like Frank G. Manley mined along Glen Creek and near Baker Creek after hot springs were discovered in 1901, sparking local gold stampedes to nearby Tofty and Eureka.

There is undiscovered buried Gold. Not a legend. Not an "Old-timer said - lost Dutchman gold mine story"!

Real gold! :o

The subject may be worthy of discussion.
