The Time line;

6:47 PM Friday, the 17th (during Happy Hour) I received an email from DGGS announcing the West Forty data...

10:18 Saturday morning, the 18th, I created this thread alerting the Alaska Gold Forum.

4:00 PM Sunday, the 19th, we have identified TWO MAJOR Geophysically inferred GOLD prospects in West Forty!

Did you happen to check ownership? Unless I miss my guess, it is ANILCA top filed. Maybe Doyan.

I have been up that river to Ketchumstuk. We found bits of gold here and there on the river, but did not venture above the fork at Ketchumstuk. "Relatively remote" is quite an understatement. That site is 40 miles off of the Taylor Highway. And 70 miles from the nearest fuel and supplies.

There is an even better one at 64.01183, -143.3520

The overall magnitude is not as great, but the difference channel as well as phase angle indicates a higher probability of gold.

The more I look at areas like this, I find more interesting targets that could represent GOLD prospects.

Yes, it is remote too. I think the remaining GOLD strikes are going to be made off the beaten path!

There is still quite a bit of “easy” gold available. By “easy”, I mean shallow (less than 20 feet). But not so obvious as an exposed lode. It takes knowledge and the correct set of tools to find them. Resistivity, geomagnetic, satellite imaging of faults, what ever it takes. Same as old-timers with a simple pan, it’s just prospecting with a different set of tools.

Erosion of GOLD;

GOLD erodes out of these anomalies. One of the most important FACTS that support this is when we see that there is a mining claim located directly down stream from an anomaly!

The process of erosion is continuous. There is GOLD along the length of the drainage. In fact, there is a high probability of disseminated GOLD in the rock surrounding an anomaly. That GOLD has also eroded out from the rock and follows a predictable down-hill path.

The fine art and science of prospecting involves "probability"...

Consider the relative probability of success randomly panning the streams in West Forty for GOLD and...

The probability of success panning a stream that contains the erosional products of a mineralized anomaly!

What is the probability of a mineralized anomaly containing GOLD?

Is it a GOLD mining district?

Are there placer GOLD mining operations down stream?

The probability of success weighs in FAVOR of prospectors that use a rational thought process that involves collecting all of the clues!

I naturally agree!

There are places that show promise of having mineral content within GOLD mining Districts. When there is information in the form of data from professionally conducted geophysical surveys, it narrows down the search.
