Kurt, sitting here in relatively warm Northern California, it is hard to imagine how much you have got done in extremely harsh conditions. I have never been much, if anything for working underground, actually it would terrify me, So, my hat is off to you my friend. I hope this season brings you better success and safety,

As Joe said, please stop back and update as you can.

Jim, One of the most important lessons ive been learning in this mining game is PATIENCE. There are so many disruptions to getting any actual mining done, it will drive you stark raving mad if you cant roll with the punches. Its especially difficult when working alone. It doesn't seem to matter if you are working on a shoestring and your operation is simple or if you are highly mechanized, there is an awful lot of down time. Of course the winter months exacerbate the process. So I'm happy to see any progress right now. Another thing I am finding is that 4 or 5 hours of hard work in the cold is about all I can handle at my age. I've begun working with a chap in his early 60's who has a long history of working the coal mines, East to West, underground and above. He's tough as a black spruce and not afraid of anything put in front of him. I'm probably soon to introduce him to permafrost drift gold mining. We'll see how it goes in coming months.

Chuck, I came across Elmer Keturi’s autobiography many years ago and , like you, found it an amazing read. I’ve since reread it and will probably revisit it again soon.
With respect to remote prospecting, I am currently trying to remember some of the things you taught me about identifying target anomalies through resistivities and magnetics. I’ll try to find direction in some of your previous posts.
